Stage 3 · Protection

What happens if this entity fails.

Safeguarded, and Wise states explicitly that the e-money is not covered by the FSCS.

Safeguarding is a mix of cash at banks, government bonds and a comparable guarantee, held apart from company money. It protects the balance in insolvency, it does not pay compensation.

What we have not verified yet

  • Current safeguarding split between cash, bonds and guarantee
  • Median time to resolve a frozen account

Stage 1 · Interface

What to look at before you migrate.

Wise publishes a status page and ships API changes on a documented versioning scheme. Migration risk sits mostly in multi-currency balances, which behave differently from a single account.
